I’m very happy to report Tanner is doing ok after his recent injuries. His eyes are a bruised rainbow of colors, he currently can’t breathe from his nose and the pending nasal surgery has him scared-but all and all, he is on the mend.  From this situation we(my family and I) have learned a few things:

1. How fragile yet resilient the human body is.

2. Our friends and family are there to cheer us on when we are winning and console us when we lose.

3. Chicken soup made by a friend makes your tummy and heart warm.

4.This happening wasn’t for nothing-a friend of Tanner’s has decided that he isn’t ready to step in the ring (like he thought he was) after seeing what happened.

5. How illness or injury quickly puts things into perspective.

6. Medicine is amazing.

7. How humbling the kindness of strangers can be.

8.Our children grow up-even if you don’t want them to.

9.God teaches and disciplines those he loves.

10. (and from Tanner) It’s all fun and games until an angry little guy hits you in the nose. 🙂

I commend your faith, patience, tolerance, and love!!! Eek, I cannot imagine how it was to watch. Sometimes it takes a beating to gain sensibility. Thank God for lessons learned. Glad healing is happening. Sorry to hear surgery is involved.

So glad to hear that Tanner has had a change of heart. It gives me the
chills to think about his ordeal and your concern for his safety at this time. Wish you all well after your thought provoking journey.
