80th Birthday Project

I am working on a piece for my wonderful hairdresser and friend, Jennifer. Her father, whom she loves very much,  is turning 80 this year. She asked me to make him something for this special celebration. What I have done is alter playing cards with photos of her father and family.  I bought a great wooden cigar box that will hold the cards. The outside lid will be adorned with empty pocket watches that will contain more close up photos. This isn’t completed yet, but I thought I would post where I am at with it. Any comments woulds be appreciated!

job with the cards. He will truly enjoy going back through old photos.
We made up an album for my mum and dad on their 50th anniversary
and got hold of wartime buddies. My dad actually cried and was very
    touched by it.

    Dena,
You take my breath away, this is so wonderful in both concept and execution. Your embellishments are so clever. This will be treasured forever. I can only imagine how tough it must be to find creative time with the new job. Hang in there. Can’t wait to see the top when it’s finished.
